No shoes, no shirt, no problem – Kenny Chesney

with 6 Comments

This week’s lesson is a fun one.  “No shoes, no shirt, no problem” by Kenny Chesney.  My wife and I play this one whenever we are off to the airport for a vacation.

We cover the chords for the song and I show you 3 different strum patterns that you can use from beginner to more advanced.

With winter just around the corner, I am already yearning for warmer weather.  Kenny has a way of painting a great picture with his songs.  You can almost feel the sand between your toes when you play this one.

Have fun with it.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I have been inspired by my daughter at age 60 to take up guitar. It has been a fast 2 years and I am doing okay just need to be able to play clear precise chords and smoother chord changes. Other than practice a lot any pointers for a new comer. I enjoy your R&L site.

Hey Don. Thanks so much for checking things out! Practice will definitely help. But practicing with a specific goal in mind will help more. Have you signed up for the email list? There is a helpful lesson on “The secret to smooth chord changes” that I send to subscribers. You can sign up if you have not already by clicking the box in the side bar with that free lesson here on the Homepage of the website.

    Good morning Kevin
I enjoyed the no shoes no problem lesson. I have the chords down and rhythm but it doesn’t sound smooth kind of choppy I might be holding my pick incorrectly. do you have a video or even suggestions about this. I appreciate all that you have to offer.
    Thanks again
    Don
